Capability

Investment in modern computer controlled equipment has allowed us to further enhance our existing product range and continue to augment an enviable reputation as a leading player in this technically complex market place.

The two recently purchased sliding head automatic lathes will allow the company to increase capacity and reduce setting times during the production of small to medium sized batches of bespoke fasteners.

Housed in a 12,914 sq ft manufacturing complex accommodating many sophisticated machines they meet the requirements of an impressive client base, including several blue chip businesses, ministries and aerospace.

The company, which holds BS 9001-2000 AS9100 and MOD AQAP4 registration (both since 1980) is highly committed to providing top quality products and employs a specialist workforce of skilled craftsmen and women, all with many years experience of the industry.

Vaughan Jones specialise in bespoke manufacturing, where small, large or special production requirements can be addressed. Screws are manufactured from high tensile, stainless steels, non ferrous, aircraft specifications, nickel alloys, nylon, plastics and others to British, American, German or worldwide standards or to customers’ specifications. Before despatch, batches of fasteners are rigorously examined using a Samuel Denison tester where practical.

Thread rolling is another area of investment for the company, utilising three circular die machines and six flat die machines, they can obtain a high quality finish which customers expect and rightly demand. Haebegger and Fette are also used on machine, or thread cutting using Tangential, Coventry or single point.

Managing director, Jeremy Hornby, commented: "Vaughan Jones has always had a strong reputation for producing quality products and first rate service. The investment in new Sliding head multi axis lathes will allow us to increase our production capacity and offer customers even greater flexibility."

Vaughan Jones is a member of the Confederation of British Metalforming (CBM), the leading trade organization for manufacturers of screws and fasteners in the UK.
